6 Best Ethel Griffies Movies

By Vlad Zakh · July 4, 2026

Ethel Griffies enjoyed a remarkably long Hollywood career from silent film to the 1960s and became a familiar tart-tongued presence in dramas and comedies. The Birds besieges a coastal town, Jane Eyre falls for a brooding employer, How Green Was My Valley tests a Welsh mining family, and Waterloo Bridge shatters a ballerina’s wartime romance. Bombshell and Love Me Tonight round out the list.
