In The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938): A dispossessed nobleman leads a band of outlaws against a tyrannical, corrupt regime in medieval England. Another standout is Mutiny on the Bounty (1935): A tyrannical ship captain’s cruelty pushes his crew to the brink of open rebellion at sea.
