6 Best Mary Astor Movies

By Vlad Zakh · January 28, 2026

Mary Astor brought sophisticated versatility to Hollywood across four decades, equally convincing as a scheming femme fatale or a warm, devoted mother. The Maltese Falcon casts her as the femme fatale, Meet Me in St. Louis and Little Women as the mother, The Great Lie raises her husband’s child by another woman, and Hush… Hush, Sweet Charlotte targets an eccentric woman haunted by an old murder. Dodsworth rounds out the list.
