6 Best Jamaican Movies to Watch

By Vlad Zakh · December 23, 2025

Jamaican cinema’s reputation rests on a handful of films that captured Kingston’s music and street life with real specificity, beginning with the reggae-scored crime classic that introduced most of the world to the genre. The Harder They Come is the starting point, Rockers sends a drummer after his stolen motorbike in a loose, music-filled caper, and Better Mus’ Come puts a young gang member between political violence and a normal life in the 1970s. Third World Cop, Dancehall Queen and Shottas round out the list.
