6 Best Angolan Movies to Watch

By Vlad Zakh · December 28, 2025

Angola’s post-civil-war cinema is thin but pointed. The Hero follows a landmine-maimed veteran and a young boy searching for his soldier father, Nzinga, Queen of Angola reaches back to a seventeenth-century queen resisting Portuguese colonisers, and Air Conditioner has a building superintendent’s day going wrong across a Luanda apartment block. Angola - Nos Trilhos da Independencia, Sambizanga and The Great Kilapy round out the list.
