6 Best Alberto Sordi Movies

By Vlad Zakh · February 6, 2026

Alberto Sordi became one of Italy’s best-loved comic actors, using everyman charm to gently satirise postwar Italian anxieties and pretensions. The Great War has two reluctant, cowardly soldiers surviving World War I, A Difficult Life has a former partisan refusing to compromise his principles, and An Average Little Man has a grieving father’s quest for vengeance. An American in Rome, I Vitelloni and A Farewell to Arms round out the list.
