6 Best Retail and Service Job Movies

By Vlad Zakh · May 7, 2026

Dead-end retail and service jobs breed offbeat camaraderie and slacker comedy. Clerks is the obvious one, Empire Records has record store staff trying to save their shop, and Adventureland has a graduate’s humiliating summer job turning into romance. Employee of the Month, Waiting… and Mallrats round out the six.
