6 Best Puppet and Marionette Movies

By Vlad Zakh · February 14, 2026

From felt-and-foam charm to satirical marionette warfare, puppet films use their artificial performers to say things live actors sometimes can’t. In Being John Malkovich (1999): A puppeteer discovers a portal that leads directly into the mind of actor John Malkovich. Another standout is The Muppet Movie (1979): Kermit the Frog travels to Hollywood, gathering a colorful cast of friends along the way.
