6 Best Escaped Captive Animal Movies

By Vlad Zakh · June 25, 2026

Few things say adventure like an animal slipping its cage. Madagascar’s pampered zoo animals wash up on a wild island, Rio sends a domesticated macaw into the Brazilian wild, and Free Willy helps a captive orca make his daring escape. Two Brothers reunites separated tiger cubs as rivals, Born Free is the classic, and Bringing Up Baby has a runaway leopard loose in screwball comedy.
