6 Best Aging Parent Care Movies

By Vlad Zakh · May 22, 2026

Caring for a parent who’s slipping away is quiet, heartbreaking work, and these films get that. The Father puts you inside a man’s dementia, Still Alice follows a professor with early-onset Alzheimer’s, and Amour tests an elderly husband’s devotion to his wife after a stroke. Away from Her, The Savages and Iris round things out, and a few tissues wouldn’t hurt.
