Ralph Lynn became one of British cinema’s biggest comedy stars of the early 1930s, his monocled, silly-ass persona anchoring a hugely popular series of stage and screen farces. A Cuckoo in the Nest spirals a married man’s innocent overnight stay into farce, Thark sends a young man to a supposedly haunted estate, Turkey Time upends a chaotic Christmas with stranded actresses, and Dirty Work entangles chimney sweeps in a jewel theft. Plunder and Rookery Nook round out the list.
