6 Best Irving Bacon Movies

By Vlad Zakh · March 21, 2026

Irving Bacon brought a reliably folksy everyman presence to Hollywood across an extraordinarily prolific career and often played mailmen, clerks and small-town neighbours. It’s a Wonderful Life shows a despairing man his town without him, Meet John Doe spirals a newspaper hoax into a movement, White Christmas saves a Vermont inn, and The Sad Sack makes an inept recruit a target of foreign spies. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and It Happened One Night round out the list.
