6 Best Gladys George Movies

By Vlad Zakh · March 24, 2026

Gladys George brought a world-weary, husky-voiced presence to Hollywood and memorably played tragic women shaped by hard circumstance. The Maltese Falcon navigates a web of duplicity around a priceless statuette, The Roaring Twenties follows a veteran’s bootlegging rise and fall, Marie Antoinette watches a queen’s reign unravel, and Nora Prentiss leads a doctor from an affair into a fake identity. Madame X and Valiant Is the Word for Carrie round out the list.
