6 Best Finlay Currie Movies

By Vlad Zakh · March 6, 2026

Finlay Currie brought a booming, patriarchal presence to British and Hollywood film late in life and became a familiar face in some of the era’s biggest historical epics. Ben-Hur lets a betrayed Jewish prince seek revenge on his Roman friend, Quo Vadis has a Roman commander falling for a Christian woman under Nero, Ivanhoe fights to restore a kidnapped king, and Rob Roy, the Highland Rogue leads a rebellion for a clan’s lands. Great Expectations and Edward, My Son round out the list.
