6 Best Edward Brophy Movies

By Vlad Zakh · April 10, 2026

Edward Brophy brought a gruff, gravel-voiced comic presence to Hollywood and frequently played tough guys, managers and lovable henchmen. The Thin Man trades banter while investigating murder, The Whole Town’s Talking mistakes a meek clerk for his gangster double, Mad Love grafts a murderer’s hands onto a pianist, and The Beast of the City wages war on a criminal gang. Freaks and The Champ round out the list.
