7 Best Common Movies

By Vlad Zakh · January 1, 2026

Common moved from Grammy-winning rap into film with the same deliberate, socially conscious sensibility, picking projects that echo the themes in his music. Selma accompanies the pivotal civil rights marches with his Oscar-winning song, John Wick: Chapter 2 has a rival assassin pursuing the title hitman, Suicide Squad pulls a detective into a team of imprisoned villains, and Date Night turns a married couple’s evening out into mistaken-identity chaos. Wanted, American Gangster and Smokin’ Aces round out the list.
