Jordan Drama thought provokingslow and atmospheric
Jordan’s small film industry got real international attention when Theeb earned an Oscar nomination, a Bedouin coming-of-age story that doubles as a period Western. The rest of the list is more varied. 200 Meters has a Palestinian father racing through checkpoints to reach his injured son, Captain Abu Raed has an airport janitor mistaken for a pilot by the neighbourhood kids, and Farha watches 1948 from a hidden pantry. When Monaliza Smiled, The Last Friday, Amreeka and The Alleys round out the list.
