Estonia Drama slow and atmosphericthought provoking
Estonia’s small film industry has produced a string of internationally recognised war and folklore dramas in the last decade, several as co-productions with Nordic and Georgian neighbours. Tangerines has an old man sheltering two wounded soldiers from opposing sides, The Fencer has a coach hiding from Soviet authorities building a youth team, and Truth and Justice has a farmer’s feud consuming generations. The Idiot, 1944, November and In the Crosswind round out the list.
