BoJack Horseman and Rick and Morty use animation for difficult adult subject matter, while The Simpsons and South Park are the longest-running proof the format works and Bob’s Burgers shows it can stay warm. Scavengers Reign is a haunting sci-fi survival story, Tuca & Bertie has two bird best friends navigating adulthood, and Harley Quinn is a gleefully unhinged R-rated spin. Love, Death & Robots, Undone, Big Mouth and Archer round out the list.
