Mad Max: Fury Road redefined practical-effects action decades into the genre, while Avengers: Endgame closed out the biggest blockbuster experiment ever attempted. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse reinvented animated superhero films, Wonder Woman made Gal Gadot a global star, and Logan plays like a bleak Western. Extraction pulls off an astonishing one-take sequence, and Skyfall, The Dark Knight Rises, Edge of Tomorrow, Kingsman, Dunkirk, Baby Driver and The Avengers round out the list.
