6 Best Andy Devine Movies

By Vlad Zakh · March 17, 2026

Andy Devine brought a distinctively raspy voice and jovial warmth to Hollywood and became one of classic Westerns’ best-loved sidekicks. Stagecoach and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance are the Ford classics, How the West Was Won crosses generations of one family, Island in the Sky strands a downed crew in the frozen Canadian wilderness, and Zebra in the Kitchen lets a boy free zoo animals. A Star Is Born (1937) rounds out the list.
