6 Best Midwife and Childbirth Movies

By Vlad Zakh · August 24, 2026

Childbirth ranges from tender to terrifying on screen. The Midwife appears twice, in 2015 and 2017, one about a rural midwife and a mysterious pregnant stranger, the other about a dedicated midwife and the return of a glamorous woman from her late father’s past. Prevenge has a pregnant widow believing her unborn baby is telling her to kill, Grace has a mother refusing to accept her stillborn baby is dead, and The Business of Being Born and Mrs. Midwife round things out.
