The scrappy dream of making it in a rock band has powered some of cinema’s most joyful comedies and coming-of-age stories. In Almost Famous (2000): A teenage journalist tours with a rising rock band while writing his first major story for Rolling Stone. Another standout is Sing Street (2016): A Dublin teenager starts a band to impress a girl, discovering his own voice as a songwriter along the way.
