6 Best Funeral Director and Mortuary Movies

By Vlad Zakh · June 1, 2026

The funeral business mixes dark comedy with quiet dignity, and these films go straight for the heart. Departures has a failed cellist finding purpose as a ritual mortician, Get Low has a reclusive hermit planning his own living funeral, and Death at a Funeral turns a patriarch’s send-off into chaos and blackmail. My Girl, Harold and Maude and The Loved One round out the six.
