6 Best Environmental Activist Movies

By Vlad Zakh · June 9, 2026

The determined fight against corporate cover-ups and environmental destruction has fueled some of cinema’s most gripping true-story dramas and thrillers. In Dark Waters (2019): A corporate defense attorney takes on a chemical company after uncovering its decades-long cover-up of toxic pollution. Just as strong is Erin Brockovich (2000): An unemployed single mother uncovers a corporation’s cover-up of contaminated water poisoning an entire town.
