6 Best Dairy Farm and Harvest Season Movies

By Vlad Zakh · April 2, 2026

The family farm runs on the seasons, and these films have a gentle, heartfelt feel for rural life. The Straight Story has an elderly man driving a lawnmower hundreds of miles to see his ailing brother, Babe has a piglet raised by sheepdogs dreaming of sheepherding glory, and Field of Dreams has an Iowa farmer building a baseball diamond in his cornfield. Places in the Heart, The River and Country round out the six.
