Small food businesses make ideal cinematic settings, letting stories simmer with community, craft, and quiet reinvention. In Ratatouille (2007): A rat with a gift for cooking dreams of becoming a chef in a prestigious Parisian restaurant. Equally memorable is Babette’s Feast (1987): A refugee French chef prepares an extravagant feast for the austere villagers who took her in.
